Week 4 - Mar 5

Greetings,

It's been a fantastic week so far. Work is coming along slowly. I am grasping the various projects that I have been assigned to. The work culture is sooo relaxed here. Most of my colleagues start their day at 7.30am and leave around 3.30pm. I too have taken this option now that it's daylight saving! I can at least go biking after work or run some errands, well not that it makes a huge difference as it seems everything is opened 24 hours!

I've met some wonderful professors so far. I've had dinner with a few and there's even a true blue aussie here. He teaches in the School of Pharmacy and has lived in Denver for 20 years, and to my amazement, his aussie accent is still there. We basically try to catch up each week to discuss/bitch about the americans etc over a cup of tea and tim tams (although my supplies are running quite low at the moment).

I went for a 3 hr bike ride on the weekend with some work colleagues. There are soo many serious bikers out here, pretty much all are decked out in lycra and riding their $5000 USD bikes. The weather has been spectacular the last couple of days. It's consistently been 18-21 degrees celcius. I just hope winter doesn't sneak back on us.

On the weekends, I've been driving around the vacinity of denver. It definitely is wonderful to be mobile again. I've actually discovered some cool places that I wouln't have if I was on the bus.

Anyway I'm actually saving up for a digital SLR so I promise pics will be on it's way.......

Am hoping to visit Red Rocks (outdoor park and ampitheatre) this weekend. I hear it's amazing!
